Futuristic groove. Inspired by the Alan Parsons Project
In the darkness of a silouette
I can see beyond your light
And through the changes of a cosmic storm
I can pretend my world is right
But staring into your eyes
there is no place to run and no disguise
Not faring well with all the lies
I see it's all to real
There is no way to be someone else
I'll have to face the truth and be myself
Prying my way out of a plastic man
and running hard from life because I can
And so there's something more
A danger to ignore
A time when tears will come
No place for me to run to
In The hot fire of the city lights
the plastic man is melting down
He views the common ground below his feet
Tries to pretend his life is sound
But I've lived so many lives
There's no telling where the real truth lies
And surely doubt accompanies the demise
of all the fantasies
Don't understand what has become of me
So many failing dreams and so much greed
The soil is drying up around the seed
Some truth is what I really need
And so there's something more
A danger to ignore
A time when tears will come
No place for me to run to
Oh, How can I afford to show I'm only flesh and bone?
I'd wind up so alone and so rejected
A noncontented piece of dejected useless human vortex
Stumbling to walk beyond the fray
And so there's something more
A danger to ignore
A time when tears will come
No place for me to run to
