This song was composed on 9/12/2025. It is the Old Testament lectionary reading for 9/21/2025. In this reading God is about to destroy the Northern Kingdom of Israel forever. They had replaced the worship of God with the worship of Mammon. They were ignoring the Sabbath in order to sell goods at exorbitant prices. They were abusing the poor.
