Story behind the song
The words to Yes OL Friend were inspired by the memory of our precious son we lost in a terrible accident 13 years ago. Loosing a child is the hardest thing that any couple could ever have to endure. There is not a single day that goes by that you dont think of them or you see and encounter something that reminds you of them. His wife was two months pregnant at the time of his death; so, we do have a precious grandchild that allows us to see glimpses of him. I travel a lot with my job and as I was reminded each day and those memories the following words came to me.

I also admit that I am not a professional musician; I am strictly an amateur musician (Harmonica player). I am a Gospel Songwriter and I write all the lyrics and music for the song that I distribute/publish. All songs that I distribute/publish are created so those that hear them can get a feel for how I think the song should sound as a finished product. I in no way represent these songs are finished products; they are rough demos for critique and evaluation purposes of the lyrics and melody. Tom Boyd
